Look out! It’s only the Kimmer (5-7-10)

Designed by Insanity Island

On this week’s edition of Look out! It’s only the Kimmer sponsored by Solomon Brothers Fine Jewelry:

  • New York Giants great Lawrence Taylor arrested on rape charges. Kimmer recalls golfing with L.T. and Cleveland Browns running back Jim Brown in 1998.
  • High school students in California sent home for wearing American Flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo. Kimmer discusses his patriotic recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance being cut out of an Atlanta Fourth of July celebration for being potentially offensive.
  • MSNBC anchorbabe Contessa Brewer is “frustrated” that Times Square terrorist is Muslim.
  • Pole Dancing “exercise” classes for 10-year-olds.
  • Long-time Elvis doctor says King of Rock and Roll died from chronic constipation. This must be the worst news Ted Koppel has ever heard…

We apologize for the return of some phone break-ups. Kimmer was in the mountains and unable to use a land line.

If you have questions or comments on anything you hear during the show please post them in the “Comments” section below.

@ Steve: Kimmer and I ran out of time this week, but I promise I’ll have him discuss the Burt Ward interview next week.

tell kimmer it wasn’t comcast it was att, the kimmer almost walked out on that one, it was great radio

Thanks Steve. I will let Kimmer know. I remembered that story but I couldn’t remember which company it was.

Can you believe the Pledge of Allegiance deal with Simon/Lenox Square? Unbelievable yet totally believable.

  • steve

josh i moved from there in 02 so i didn’t know about that, but just as you say very believable,,the att thing was a on going deal kimmer cut lose on att broadband big time even sayin people should dump there stocks i remember the station manager beating on the glass of the booth trying to get kim to stop, but kimmer was having no part of it, it got to the point where kim told the guy “if you don’t want me in here then call punnett and get him in here”, i really thought it was over then and there,i don’t think i remember kimmer getting that pissed before, kim tried to get the guy that got fired a job, don’t really know what happened after that, that reggie guy from att was a total slime bag, kim had him on the show, but by then you could tell the station had kimmer on a short leash, and the conversation was not what i expected, kim let him have it as much as he could, but you could tell there was a line that he didn’t want to cross, it was a huge deal, i was surprised when kimmer didn’t go into that today, but if he would have you probably wouldn’t of got in any other topics

Would you possibly ask The Kimmer about the ass-whooping he gave a protester during Veteran’s Day in ’05 ?…That was something !…Thanks

This might be a good one to get The Kimmer fired up… http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/05/10/student-gets-detention-opening-piece-candy/?test=latestnews

BTW I have a recording of Kimmer’s broadcast after being assaulted by the Veteran’s Day protester. It was some emotional stuff.

  • Jarrod Cline

Wow, great to hear the Kimmer again! I used to love when he’d play Sam Kinison going off in BackTo chool. That show was classic. Wonder if he ever talks to “Sean Hannie-Pie, The Tin Man” these days?

  • Josh Price

@ Robbie: I don’t know if he’ll talk about it but I will definitely ask him about it.

  • Josh Price

@ Rick: I remember that broadcast after the Veteran’s Day incident. It was very emotional indeed.

I’ll past that story along to Kimmer. That’s absolutely absurd.

@ Jarrod: I have asked him about Sean Hannity off the air and he decided that, for now at least, it probably isn’t a great idea to talk about his feelings toward Hannity publicly. I’m leaving it up to him as to when/if he brings up on one of the podcasts.

Thank you all for listening! If you’d like to keep hearing Kimmer beyond the next several weeks, please support our sponsor by visiting Solomon Brothers Fine Jewelry at their location in Buckhead (if you’re in Atlanta) or on the Web 24/7 at SolomonBrothers.com. Please tell them Kimmer/Conservative Beacon sent you!

As someone who once experienced the Kimmer and Sean Hannity in the same room together, you could cut the tension with a knife. Sean was in town for an episode of Hannity and Colmes at Georgia State, with Guest Alan Keyes. Sean is good friends with Dave Stone who at the time had the 9 to 12 slot. I can say unless something drastic changed, the Two really don’t care for each other!!!!
