George Soros: Communist China has better government than America

(Foreign Policy) “There is a really remarkable, rapid shift of power and influence from the United States to China,” Mr. Soros said, likening the U.S.’s decline to that of the U.K. after the Second World War.

Because global economic power is shifting, Mr. Soros said China needs to change its focus. “China has risen very rapidly by looking out for its own interests,” he said. “They have now got to accept responsibility for world order and the interests of other people as well.”

Mr. Soros even went so far as to say that at times China wields more power than the U.S. because of the political gridlock in Washington. “Today China has not only a more vigorous economy, but actually a better functioning government than the United States,” he said, a hard statement for him to make because he spent much of his life donating to anti-communist groups in Eastern Europe.

GOP leadership waffling on full Obamacare repeal campaign platform; Chinese have 60 brainwashing instiutions in America; and Sarah Palin thinks Michael Steel is doing a great job

The Republican leadership can sure talk a big game but when it comes time take a stand and go campaign on it they waffle almost as much as John Kerry. GOP leaders like Sen. John Cornyn are advocating campaigning on repealing only the “non-controversial” provisions of Obamacare. Thankfully, conservatives like Rep. Steve King and Sen. Jim DeMint aren’t going along with such a cowardly campaign strategy. They’re pushing for a full repeal.

The Chinese have set up 60 “culture” centers at colleges and universities across America while they have allowed us only 4 in China. These so-called “culture” centers are designed to, in my opinion, brainwash Americans into a better perception of communist (and I really can’t emphasize that enough) China. This also just another example of the decidedly one-sided relationship we have with China.

Sarah Palin thinks RNC chairman Michael Steele “is doing a good job.” Right. She’s flat-out wrong. Please don’t make excuses for her like everyone did for her support of John McCain. She doesn’t have to say that Steele is doing a good job. Palin has become the Barack Obama of the Republican Party–an idol. She seems to more concerned about cashing in on her celebrity than on advancing conservatism.

Dems strategy for selling Obamacare: Paint opposition as racist, violent extremists

The Democrats know that a significant majority of Americans loathe Obamacare. They also know that they are losing the debate on the merits of Obamacare because there aren’t any merits. As a result, the Democrats are attempting to divert attention away from the actual debate by branding Obamacare’s opposition as violent extremists who are threatening the lives of congressional Democrats.

But there is good news for President Obama: not everyone hates Obamacare. In fact, Obamacare received Cuban dictator Fidel Castro’s seal of approval earlier today. Apparently it’s just us non-socialists who oppose Obamacare.

While Obama dictates and bullies domestically, he’s getting bullied on the international front. He is softening the new proposed sanctions against Iran in order to win the support of Russia and China at the U.N.

If Pres. Obama is such an uberintellectual, why is he outsourcing his agenda? The history of political campaigning with Dennis W. Johnson

If President Obama is the uberintellectual the state-controlled media want us to believe he is, why is he outsourcing the development of his agenda to congressional Democrats? After all, his first two major agenda items–health care and immigration reform–are being crafted by Congress.

The Chinese communist (and really, I can’t emphasize that enough, though I certainly tried) government vows not to turn their U.S. debt holdings into a political football. Should they be trusted? Or are they just following the philosophy of the great Chinese war strategist Sun Tzu who wrote that all warfare, including economic, is based on deception:

All warfare is based on deception.

Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

In other words, are the Chinese trying to deceive us? I say yes.

George Washington University Professor Dennis Johnson gives a brief history of the evolution of political consultants/strategists and campaign management.

China considered a major threat but is it an intelligence priority for Obama administration? And the NRSC is full of RINOS

Links reference in today’s podcast:

According to the Obama administration, gathering intelligence on climate change is more important than gathering intelligence on the threat posed by China.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) still hasn’t learned its lesson. NRSC chairman John Cornyn (R-TX) says the NRSC stands by its endorsement of RINO Charlie Crist in the Florida Republican Primary for Senate. Cornyn also stated that the NRSC will not spend any money in Florida.

Way to back the conservative candidate, NRSC!

China accuses U.S. of cyberwarfare

I’m going to summarize my analysis of this story with the classic idiom: If this isn’t the pot calling the kettle black, I don’t know what it is.

“The US was the first country in the world to introduce the concept of cyberwar; it has introduced and developed a new kind of army, a cyberarmy, and even set up a hacker brigade,” People’s Daily said in a vitriolic editorial. “US intelligence agencies can, through technical means, fully monitor, follow and erase online information harmful to the US’ national interest. It is really ridiculous that under such circumstances, it demands other countries to allow the free flow of information on the net.”

Obama administration moves China’s intelligence-gathering priority status down in order to move climate change up?

Bill Gertz has a report out today that’s profoundly important and troubling but it’s getting lost in the hoopla surrounding the special election in Massachusetts.

The Obama administration has decided to lower China on the U.S.’s intelligence-gathering priority list. China had been classified as a “Priority-1,” along with North Korea and Iran. It has now been downgraded to a “Priority-2,” the same level has humanitarian crises. In other words, the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti now has the same intelligence-gathering priority level as China.

What does the Obama administration classify has a high intelligence-gathering priority? Answer: Climate Change. Global Warming. Global cooling–or whatever liberals are calling it now.

That’s right–Obama has tasked the CIA with gathering intelligence on climate change.  Ready to break your computer yet? Wait, it gets more troubling.

Some in the intelligence community believe that Obama’s decision to reduce China’s priority was a response to the Chinese government’s criticism of a recent strategy report released by the Director of National Intelligence’s office that identified China as a main threat to America. If this is true, this is yet another example of Obama figuratively (though there are literal examples) bowing down to another world leader.

There is absolutely no justification for this move. In fact, I’l argue that China should be moved up the priority list. I’m not the only one who feels this way:

John Tkacik, a former State Department intelligence official, said the demotion of China to a second-tier priority reflects bias within the NSC staff.

“It means that the Obama administration doesn’t understand the profound challenge that China has become or, even more disturbing, it cannot understand that China’s challenges to America’s policies are becoming even more threatening with each passing week,” he said.

Adm. Robert Willard, the new commander of U.S. Pacific Command, indirectly criticized U.S. intelligence estimates on China last fall, telling reporters in November that during the past decade “China has exceeded most of our intelligence estimates of their military capability and capacity every year. They’ve grown at an unprecedented rate in those capabilities.”

Obama is getting bullied on the international stage and we need to figure out why. Is it because he’s naturally weak? Or is he doing this on purpose because he has a vested interest in a weakened America?

Either way, we’re in serious trouble.

Empire State Building to Shine Communist Colors of China

Tonight, one of the country’s greatest landmarks, the Empire State Building, will honor the birth of a communist regime and state when the floodlights atop the building shine red and yellow.

This is disgraceful. They might as well drape a portrait of Chairman Mao around the building.

Doug Heye asks the pertinent question here: What is this designed to honor?

Will it honor the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, where the government murdered hundreds of its own citizens and rolled out tanks to quell any showing of support for freedom?

Is this to honor Mao Zedong, whose euphemistically-named Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution led to the mass starvation and mass murder of 40-70 million Chinese, a death toll perhaps surpassing that of Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin combined, and led him to declare “China is such a populous nation, it’s not as if we cannot do without a few people?”

Or is this to honor China’s 1950 invasion of Tibet and subsequent famine, mass deaths, and continued domination over its land, people, and culture?

You almost have to hand it to the Chinese government. As the country opened up economically (while tightening its grip back home), it learned enough about western capitalism to know that anything has a price. Apparently that includes honoring a regime responsible for the murder of millions upon millions of people. And with the Chinese consul on hand for a ceremonial switch of the flip, doing so with style.

What a sad day it is when one of our landmarks is used to honor and celebrate a communist revolution.

China Wins Economic War With United StatesIt

At least according to economic war games recently conducted by the government:

The Pentagon sponsored a first-of-its-kind war game last month focused not on bullets and bombs — but on how hostile nations might seek to cripple the U.S. economy, a scenario made all the more real by the global financial crisis.

The two-day event near Ft. Meade, Maryland, had all the earmarks of a regular war game. Participants sat along a V-shaped set of desks beneath an enormous wall of video monitors displaying economic data, according to the accounts of three participants.

But instead of military brass plotting America’s defense, it was hedge-fund managers, professors and executives from at least one investment bank, UBS – all invited by the Pentagon to play out global scenarios that could shift the balance of power between the world’s leading economies.

Their efforts were carefully observed and recorded by uniformed military officers and members of the U.S. intelligence community.

In the end, there was sobering news for the United States – the savviest economic warrior proved to be China, a growing economic power that strengthened its position the most over the course of the war-game.

The United States remained the world’s largest economy but significantly degraded its standing in a series of financial skirmishes with Russia, participants said.

Two points to take away from this story:

  1. It validates what I have been saying on this blog since its inception: China is at war with us economically and;
  2. At least some in business and government realize it.

Now whether we act on whatever was learned through this war game or not is an entirely different point. I highly doubt we will.

Pentagon Spends $100 Million in Six Months on Cyberattacks

By Josh Price

We might finally be getting a glimpse–at least monetarily–of the scope of cyberattacks committed by the Chinese government:

The Pentagon spent more than $100 million in the last six months responding to and repairing damage from cyber attacks and other computer network problems, military leaders said Tuesday.

Air Force Gen. Kevin Chilton, who heads U.S. Strategic Command, said the military is only beginning to track the costs, which are triggered by constant daily attacks against military networks ranging from the Pentagon to bases around the country.

“The important thing is that we recognize that we are under assault from the least sophisticated — what I would say the bored teenager — all the way up to the sophisticated nation-state, with some pretty criminal elements sandwiched in-between,” said Chilton, adding that the motivations include everything from vandalism to espionage. “This is indeed our big challenge, as we think about how to defend it.”

Officials would not say how much of the $100 million cost was due to outside attacks against the system, versus viruses and other problems triggered accidentally by Defense Department employees. And they declined to reveal any details about suspected cyber attacks against the Pentagon by other countries, such as China.

It’s a pretty safe bet that attacks committed by the ChiComs account for a considerable portion of this $100 mil. This provides some more evidence of the ChiComs increased effort in hacking. We know that the Chinese government has repeatedly attempted to hack into computers of members of Congress. There’s no telling what else is going on that we aren’t being told about.

To me, this is a very important story and I haven’t heard it mentioned on any of the radio talk shows (hence why I’m mentioning it).
