MSNBC suspends Keith Olbermann for campaign contributions to Democrats

(CNN) Keith Olbermann, MSNBC’s primetime firebrand host, has been suspended indefinitely for violating the ethics policies of his employer earlier this year when he donated to three Democrats seeking federal office, MSNBC announced Friday.

“I became aware of Keith’s political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay,” MSNBC President Phil Griffin said in a statement.

First reported by Politico and confirmed by Federal Election Commission filings, the primetime television host gave $2,400 – the maximum individual amount allowed – to each of the campaigns of Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway, and Arizona Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords.

MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer ‘frustrated’ that Times Square Terrorist is Muslim

MSNBC and the rest of the state-controlled media aren’t biased at all.</sarcasm>

Instead of being happy the Times Square attack failed Contessa Brewer is  “frustrated” because the suspected terrorist is, wait for it…Muslim.

CONTESSA BREWER: I mean the thing is that- and I get frustrated and there was part of me that was hoping this was not going to be anybody with ties to any kind of Islamic country because there are a lot of people who want to use this terrorist intent to justify writing off people who believe in a certain way or come from certain countries or whose skin color is a certain way. I mean they use it as justification for really outdated bigotry.And so there was part of me was really hoping this would not be the case that here would be somebody who is not the defined.

I guess Contessa was hoping, like NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg predicted, that the suspect would have been a white male tea-partier who opposes Obamacare and wanted to blow up Comedy Central’s parent company Viacom for their surrendering to Islamofascist intimidation.

Absurd. Absolutely absurd.

Bloomberg should be thrown out of office and Contessa Brewer should be fired immediately.

Chris Matthews on Obama: “I forgot he was black”

Here is the full transcript of his remarks:

I was trying to think about who he was tonight. It’s interesting: he is post-racial, by all appearances. I forgot he was black tonight for an hour. You know, he’s gone a long way to become a leader of this country, and passed so much history, in just a year or two. I mean, it’s something we don’t even think about. I was watching, I said, wait a minute, he’s an African-American guy in front of a bunch of other white people. And here he is president of the United States and we’ve completely forgotten that tonight — completely forgotten it.

He acts like not realizing or focusing on Obama’s race is a bad thing. But isn’t that where we want to be as a country, not being concerned with or seeing race?

Chris Matthews, like so many liberals, is fixated on race.

It’s Chris Matthews, do I need to say more? This was a Freudian slip. Liberals do believe the military is their enemy. He and his ilk in the media loathe the United States military.

All I have to say is thank god we don’t rely on vermin like Chris Matthews to stand a post and defend us.

Obama Communications Director Praises Jon Stewart and The Daily Show for its “Fact-Checking” and “Investigative Journalism”

Really. She did.

Anita Dunn, Chairman Obama’s outgoing communications director, actually hailed Jon Stewart’s Daily Show as one of the following programs devoted to “fact-checking” and “investigative journalism.”

Here’s the full quote. She’s referring to the so-called misinformation put out regarding the Obama/Reid/Pelosi government-mandated health care bill:

“The people who exposed this: Jon Stewart of the Daily Show on Comedy Central,” Dunn said yesterday at the Bloomberg Washington Summit. “That’s where you are getting fact-checking and investigative journalism these days.”

Now let me state this: Unlike many liberals who criticize conservative talk radio personalities without ever listening to them, I actually watch The Daily Show periodically (sometimes regularly), so I can formulate an opinion on the show based on my viewing experiences.

The show is usually very entertaining. I know Stewart loathes conservatives, particularly social ones, but I can still enjoy some of the show’s humor and bits. But the show is just that–entertaining; it’s not an unbiased, fact-checking news program as Dunn would have you believe.

Further, the show doesn’t conduct “investigative journalism;” it spoofs the likes of Geraldo Rivera.

Anitia Dunn is the quintessential whackjob liberal. If you don’t believe that after reading her opinion of The Daily Show, wait until you read her take on MSNBC. Get ready.

After the controversy between the White House and Fox News erupted, Karl Rove, former President George W. Bush’s political adviser, said that cable news channel MSNBC had a left-leaning bias. Dunn disputed that contention.

“MSNBC has as a host of their morning program a former Republican congressman who was a member of Newt Gingrich’s revolution,” she said, referring to Joe Scarborough, the former Florida Republican congressman who hosts “Morning Joe.”

So according to Dunn, MSNBC isn’t a liberal organization because it employees at least one conservative host. By this illogic Fox News wouldn’t be conservative-leaning because it employees a multitude of liberals (i.e. Geraldo Rivera, Greta Van Susteren, Chris Wallace, etc.). Besides, does Joe Scarborough cancel out the liberal combination of Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, and Rachel Maddow?

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz: Republicans “Want to See You Dead”

MSNBC and liberal talk radio host Ed Schultz told all seven of his viewers that Republicans like it when people get cancer and that they “want to see you dead.”

This is very similar to what got conservative talk show host Michael Savage fired from MSNBC several years back when he told a prank caller (not even a legitimate debater) that “you should get AIDS and die.”

Will MSNBC take the same action against Ed Schultz that it did against Michael Savage? Of course not. Schultz probably won’t even be reprimanded. Why? Because he’s a socialist like Obama. In other words, he’s one of their own.

No wonder no one watches MSNBC.

UPDATE: Apparently I underestimated the size of Schultz’s audience. He actually has 9 viewers, not 7. My sincerest apologies, Ed.

MSNBC Deputy Political Director Insinuates Conservatives Are Anti-Immigration

I am sick of the liberal media in this country insinuating, or in some cases flat-out saying, that conservatives who oppose illegal immigration are somehow anti-immigrant. 

Take, for example, this little weasel deputy political director at MSNBC (who no one has ever heard of) who wrote the following on his blog about the Sonia Sotomayor nomination:

Given some of the anti-immigrant rhetoric during the immigration debate of 2006-2007 (which, as it turns out, didn’t help the GOP with Hispanics), and given last year’s presidential contest (when Obama bested McCain 2-1 among this group), we posed this question earlier today: Would Republicans dare vote against the first Hispanic Supreme Court nominee?

So according to this liberal weasel, if Republicans vote against Sotomayor they’re anti-Hispanic? This is the same race baiting that was used during the presidential campaign: you’re racist if you didn’t vote for Obama!

The larger issue here, however, is this notion that if you’re anti-illegal immigration you’re automatically anti-immigration. Period. End of discussion. 

That is quintessential liberal illogic mixed with race baiting. It’s unacceptable and we’re going to call it out here on The Conservative Beacon.

MSNBC Denies Liberal Bias

I don’t really know what else I expected, but it’s still surprising to read that MSNBC’s president believes his network has no bias:

As replays of the conflicts became YouTube hits, MSNBC President Phil Griffin gave his first public defense in a Politico interview.

“MSNBC does not have an ideology,” Griffin said. “We hire smart people who are passionate about their love of politics and love of news.”

May I add, Mr. Griffin, that you hire people who are not only passionate about their love of politics, but who are also passionate about their liberal ideology (i.e. Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews) and their desire to create news.

Just watch MSNBC for 3 minutes and you’ll discover their blatant liberal bias. People on the inside know the network is in trouble:

Amid a spate of awkward on-air conflicts among MNSBC anchors at this week’s Democratic convention, some staff members say there are sharp internal disputes at the cable network over whether its opinion and personality-driven political coverage has crossed the line.

“The situation at our channel is about to blow up,” a high-ranking MSNBC journalist told Politico on Wednesday.

Two other MSNBC sources said some of the testy on-air exchanges between Keith Olbermann — whose quick-witted and often caustic commentary has fueled ratings growth — and other network personalities were a public glimpse of much more intense behind-the-scenes turmoil.

Sounds like DNCTV MSNBC is in as much disarray as the Democrat Party it loves so much–whether both admit it or not.

In the following clip, former Congressman and current MSNBC host, Joe Scarborough, exposes the former Fox News and current MSNBC reporter, David Shuster, for the liberal he is:

Not only is this clip entertaining, just look at Chris Matthews sitting idly by while this goes on, Scarborough is also right on the topic. He’s saying what we’ve been saying for two or three months now: If Nouri al-Maliki wants to be greedy and kick us out now, that’s fine. But don’t come crying back, pleading for security assistance when Iraq is taken over again.

Kudos to Joe Scarborough on both accounts–calling out Shuster and Maliki.
